Focus

Lately, I've been noticing that there is something lacking in my life. Something that helps me to be productive. It is nothing tangible per se but without it we would not be able to get anything done in a timely manner or with quality.

It is focus.

I've had this issue for ages. I wonder sometimes if I'm really ADD. I'm like a little kid that can't sit still...mentally. My brain is always doing something. It's thinking, planning, moving on to the next thing. Emily has caught me so many times where my brain has moved on to something else in the middle of a conversation. My mouth is still going but my brain is....ooo..bugs bunny cartoon... See what I mean.

I had a long talk this weekend with a good friend and someone that I honestly call a mentor. He and I are similar is some respects but he has been so much more successful because of the focus he has. He really encouraged me to move into a more organized and focused life.

I'm sure there are going to be bumps along the way but I'm going to give it a try for the rest of 2009 and see what happens.

I Suck At Blogging!

Ok, sorry everyone. 2 months since my last post is just not nice. It's just rude. Sorry.

For the 2 of you still reading, here's what's up with me:

*Still working for a marketing company doing email administration. Job has gotten better more responsibility and respect plus just recently got a good raise.

*Just recently finished some some self paced training in After Effects so that I'm a little more rounded in the motion graphics sort of thing when doing videos.

*I'm doing some Vision intros for E3 Scottsdale. Very exciting to be doing some motion graphics.

*I'm reading through Isaiah right now. First time I've ever read through Isaiah. First half is very wrath of God.

*Reading Reality Check by Guy Kawasaki. Can't comment on it yet as I'm only 1 chapter in.

That's about all right now. For my daily ramblings see me on Facebook or on Twitter (@jwegley)

I made a vow to love and cherish Emily, in sickness and in health, in good economic times and in bad economic times, for as long as we both shall live.

I'm so amazed by her everyday and I'm so glad and honored that I am married to her.

Happy Anniversary Emily!

What I'm Reading :Blog Edition

Lately, I've been reading some interesting blogs so I thought I'd post a few links:

Marc and Angel Hack Life
This is a link to a specific story. I love the inspirational stories. For instance, this article talks about following who you are, what you are supposed to be.

Geekdad

Still loving this site. Fun stuff on a daily basis.

Video Copilot
No this isn't like the old non-Biblically correct license plate. This is a great site for some awesome products but also has incredible tutorials. This guy has forgotten more about After Effects than I know.

Seth Godin's blog

Can you really ever have enough Seth Godin in your diet. ;-)

Already Been Chewed
Last but certainly not least, Barton Damer's blog about stuff. This man is incredible with the talent and skills God has given him with Motion Graphic Design. It's almost disgusting. (ha ha)

As always, I'm still posting on Twitter (1,350 post to date), if you want a little more frequency on the posts. You are most likely missing out on pictures of the "I"-man or some great links if you aren't. Check it here and sign up.

Things I've learned from my son #2

We must be Fankful!
Ian is so good at saying "Fank you!" He says it when he gets his juice or when we tuck him in. Even when we are praying, he says "Fank you" for Nana and Papa and Grandma and PawPaw.

This is something that I've been working on for a long while about being Fankful for whatever I receive. Think everyone needs to do that.

United We Can, Divided We Won't

I remember growing up and hearing people saying "United we stand, Divided we fall." Right now, we are a sad country and it's both sides fault. Red or Blue we need to get up off our butts and work together. I don't care who won the trip to the Oval Office. We need to brush the dust off our marred faces and get to work doing what the US does best: Be a World Leader!

We are 50 states UNITED! We are the people of the United States of America!

Here's a link of people that agree!
